‘Our aim is to make a positive difference to the lives of every household in the UK’
At DVLA, we strive to be the very best at what we do, both in the eyes of our customers and our colleagues. We’re evolving our services, making it simpler for our customers to do business with us online, helping them to save money and time. Our purpose in providing these new and improved services is to keep millions moving, ensuring that only the right vehicles with the right keepers and licences are safe to travel on our roads.
‘We use cutting edge technology to deliver best in class services’
You’ll work with the latest technologies. We have a modern cloud platform that provides support for both container-based and serverless workloads through the use of Kubernetes, native cloud services such as AWS Lambda, modern build pipelines and supporting tooling.
We’re adopting the latest technology to improve our services including the use of chatbots and voice assistants. Alongside this, we have an Emerging Tech lab that actively prototypes new technology to see where it can add value to our new and existing services.
‘Together we keep millions moving every day’
With over 49 million driver records and over 40 million vehicle records, the opportunity to work at this scale is unrivalled across the South Wales and South West region. Our services generate billions in revenue annually and directly impact the lives of 9 out of 10 households in the UK.
‘A great place to work, live and play’
We’re based in the vibrant city of Swansea which is famous for its culture, people, poets, music, singers, coastline, surfing, nightlife, rugby, football and quality of life. Swansea is also becoming increasingly famous for its technology sector and we are at the heart of that, offering meaningful careers and building digital skills in the South Wales region.
